APC Executive Committee Suspends Kayode Fayemi


The All Progressives Congress( APC) Executive committee in Ekiti State has suspended Governor Kayode Fayemi.

This information was confirmed in a statement signed by seven members of the executive committee on Friday 25th September, 2020.

The statement made it known that the governor was suspended as a result of his numerous anti-party activities, especially his role in the just concluded Edo gubernatorial election. They said his actions is contrary to the provisions of Article 21 (A) (ii) of the APC Constitution.

APC said some days before the Edo election, Governor Fayemi hosted a PDP chieftain, Mr. Femi Fani- Kayode in Ado Ekiti and planned a coup against APC in Edo State.

The statement also alleged that Governor Fayemi played a role in the governorship election in Oyo State and supported the PDP candidate to defeat the APC candidate.
