Premier League - NBA-type- Draft Picks
The title could be a bit confusing I think but I’ll explain. So I imagined the NBA type draft picks (properly explained here, for people who don’t understand what the NBA draft picks is all about, you can read about the League on Flashscore or here. It happens among the best players, to teams in the Premier League.
More like, teams pick the best player, they feel could help their team improve better. Because we can’t run the process of ranking teams, here, I choose to rank teams in alphabetical order, meaning Arsenal with alphabet A gets to draft first, and Wolves gets to draft last.
The best players in the league right now are De Bruyne, our own seniorman Kelechi Ihenacho, Kane and so on, some players also narrowly miss out, but without further ado, here is what my Premier league mock draft looks like. With the first draft pick of the 2020-21 season: Arsenal picks De Bruyne They play fancy, but lack creativity. A damning stat that came out today saw Maguire has taken more shots (11) than Aubameyang (10) and Lacazette (9). KDB will increase that automatically especially in the absence of Ozil. Aston Villa picks Van Dijk - 2nd They are scoring goals.
VVD will definitely be the perfect partner for Mings to solidify them at the back. Brighton picks Kane - 3rd How many goals would Maupay score in a season? Kane increases that by miles. Burnley picks Bruno Fernandes — 4th Solid defence, average attackers but they lack creative midfielders. Expect Bruno to lump the balls for Wood and Barnes. Chelsea picks Soyuncu — 5th Going forward, they have lots of very good options. Soyuncu solidifies them at the back alongside Thiago Silva.
Crystal Palace picks Aguero — 6th Put him alongside Zaha and see them kill teams with their counter-attacking moves. Everton picks Salah — 7th James Rodriguez goes into midfield with Allan and Doucoure, Salah on the right, Richarlison on the left, Lewin up top. Fulham picks Mane — 8th Completely bench Ademola Lookman after that rubbish panenka of last weekend. Leeds picks Laporte — 9th They can score, they need to stop conceding.
Laporte will solidify them at the back. Leicester City picks Sterling — 10th They’ve struggled to find a creative /goal-scoring winger since Mahrez left. Sterling should make up for that and chip in with some numbers. Liverpool picks Werner — 11th Then Firmino is benched for life because Werner is also as hardworking and a better scorer. Mancity picks Robertson — 12th He’s a battling ram, he’ll stay fit, everything Guardiola hoped Mendy will be. Manutd picks Aubameyang — 13th Would’ve been Grealish but United already signed Traoré who’ll join in January. Auba will give you the numbers, he’ll be consistent, Martial would preserve a sit on the bench.
Newcastle picks Grealish — 14th Grealish on the right, Maxim on the left, Wilson up top. A massive upgrade on Almiron. Sheffield Utd picks Vardy — 15th They all work very hard and in Vardy, they find their like for like. Southampton picks Thiago Silva — 16th He’s getting old but he’s still one of the best defenders in the world. Who are their defenders??? Silva will improve their defence massively. Tottenham picks Partey — 17th Mourinho doesn’t know his best midfield pairing yet. One thing for sure, Partey slots in alongside whoever.
He’s everything Mourinho thought Pogba would be. West Brom picks Son — 18th All their strikers are inexperienced at this level. Son will make the team better and definitely help score goals that would probably keep them up. West Ham picks Calvert Lewin — 19th Antonio has been their best player since last season despite been played off position.
Haller hasn’t stepped up since his arrival. Calvert Lewin will slot in perfectly for Moyes. Wolves picks Reguilon — 20th Every other position is complete apart from the left wing-back. Expect Reguilon to slot in perfectly for Nuno Santo’s side. James Rodriguez, Alexander Arnold, Rashford, Bale all narrowly miss out. What does your English premier league draft-pick look like?
